Year 2004 Review

31 Dec 2004

To every reader of NashvilleCyclist.com.....Thank You.

This past year has been a unique and enjoyable experience in developing NashvilleCyclist.com.  What you are viewing today has evolved and changed countless times, but the hope for each change has been to improve the site's appeal positively.  The goal is to be unique, offer local news, information, insight and viewpoints that you cannot find anywhere else.  Since our startup in March 2004 we hope to have accomplished that goal, and with the ideas on our plates for 2005 we want to remain a daily bookmark in your web browser.

Readers of this site are proving each day what they find valuable and interesting.  The racer diaries is a section that gained interest from the start and continues to build momentum.  Local news information about greenways and local happenings, photos, Walk/Bike Nashville reports, Q & A interviews and editorials have all been well viewed.  Our charity and racing calendars are the most extensive in the area.  In 2005 expect to see more of those, but they will become even more in-depth and widespread.  The tentacles of NashvilleCyclist.com are spreading and will continue going farther out into the cycling community locally and abroad.

Each day we're gaining new followers based upon the numbers, which tells us we are doing something a bit interesting.  However, to give this resourceful site even more lifeblood we need your help.  (No, not money, although we'll gladly take it!)

What we need is you, the Nashville cyclist.  The site and cycling community in our area will begin to thrive when you the cyclist get more involved.  This site is asking for your input, ideas, suggestions, anything since this is your site too.  It is critical we get feedback about our performance and hear about ways for us to better serve cycling in Nashville and surrounding areas.

We can be reached via email at info@nashvillecyclist.com with the message board another great place to make comments.  Please do not hesitate utilizing those avenues to provide feedback.  Thus far we have not been nearly as successful in creating a culture of open communication as we had hoped.  Hopefully it only needs more time, but at some point it requires cyclist's involvement.

To achieve the success we have had has required the help of many people.  NashvilleCyclist.com must first thank Spincycle Creative Revo!utions for developing a recognizable logo and distinct web design that is appealing and highly professional.  If ever you need creative graphic, web design, or marketing work handled then we highly recommend the team at Spincycle.  Thank you Gregory, for everything.

We are especially thankful to the coach and diarists involved with NashvilleCyclist.com.  To have the opportunity to work with Todd, Christian, Jesse, Zach and Lauren has been a tremendous pleasure.  It is because of their passion for cycling and willingness to share their experience that NashvilleCyclist.com has been successful thus far.  We have enjoyed working with each one, listening to stories, sharing ideas, and providing it all online for everyone to read.

We are also thankful for the thousands of drivers who pass us by and allow us to share the open roads.  Sure, it is not always a pleasant experience, but then again we are sitting here enjoying the internet.  To all those charity event organizers and race promoters, thank you for your dedicated hard work.  You are the ones who provide us a reason to get out and ride, and also the ones who dish out the suffering we have long been seeking.  We are thankful for our families who put up with our meticulously anal ways of pursuing our passion.  Yes we realize it is just a bicycle, but they were meant to be ridden, often.

Last but certainly not least we thank God above.  Without Him nothing else matters, and because of His countless blessings we are able to enjoy all that life has to offer.

Happy New Year, and best wishes for 2005.
