Okay, so maybe using the Old-English spelling doesn't really apply
since it's in France, but I'm heading towards the original
"Orleans," somewhere just south of Paris for a race tomorrow called
Tour du Loiret Orleans. It was kind of a surprise when I got
here, considering that was today! Ah, jet-lag's a myth anyway.
I thought I was doing a one day race this Sunday, but this may be
better so I don't get all jittery waiting for the race a few days
off. Plus not to mention the one day race is a 1.2 = really
hard, but the stage race is a 1.12 = somewhat less hard... in theory
mind you.. in theory.
So anyway I have to say that I'm a bit nervous for sure. Even
though I've raced over here a good bit before I'm taking a step
upwards into the unknown. Longer, faster, tougher... who knows
what treats I'm going to be in store for. The worst part is
that I've had a pretty bad spring. From my last entry you saw
that I was dealing with pulmonal ebola, and the reason that you
haven't seen any updates since is things haven't taken that 180
degree turn that I've been waiting for. Things got good enough
to where I was putting in some good training, maybe even a bit too
much, but then I got a stomach bug. So somewhere under all of
my excuses I don't have any race results, nor even finishes!
So there's a big question mark on me right now.
I'm hoping it was just the stomach bug and that I'll go right back
to how I was when I was doing my training (which from what I can
tell is happening). But if not... let's just say I'll be
considerably less entertaining to watch.
Thanks for reading. Wish me luck.. updates to follow soon.
