Topic : Need Local Massage Therapist

Hola:

As I am new to the area I am looking for a local Massage therapist that has experience giving deep tissue and recovery massages. I work in Cummins Station (9th S and Broadway) and live by 8th S and Wedgewood so I would prefer someone local if possible. If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Matias

Topic : Anyone heading to Rouge Roubaix?

I am looking for a ride to Rouge Roubaix if anyone is heading down to race and needs some company for the long drive. Of course I am willing to give you some gas money, and do some of the driving if you like. I will be staying in LA for the next week, so I just need a lift down.

We will not be hosting a women's ride this weekend (February 28). The Smurfettes will be at team camp.

Sorry, My bad. Looks like you're going to have great weather next weekend. BTW, can either you or Tim email me off line regarding the $2.00 TBRA fee? Thanks

With the high for this Sunday projected at 56 degrees, I hope to see A LOT of women at our ride. We will start at noon from the entrance to the park at the end of Belle Meade Blvd. We will go out for about 2.5 hours of endurance-paced riding and will hit some hills. Guys, you are welcome to join us, but the girls will be dictating the pace. We won't get our feelings hurt if you go off the front. Or out the back.

Go check out the current TBRA schedule :
http://www.tbra.org/raceschedule_2010.php

Notice anything strange for late July?  If you see this soon enough you will notice TBRA has scheduled another racing event to be held in East TN the same weekend as my TT/crit weekend in the Nashville area.

There's a lot of backstory to this issue and others, but what you see is what you see.  I am quite disappointed as you can imagine.

Tim

I just posted a link within my road race calendar for a training race that Marx & Bensdorf is promoting down near Memphis on Saturday, February 27.  Please check out the schedule for a link to the flyer.

You will not find this race listed on the TBRA schedule, but it is going to happen.  Just like you will not find my March 20 training criterium on the TBRA calendar.  However, both are definitely happening!

Why?

Cause TBRA wants to charge us $2 per rider for training races that are non-TBRA points races.  Never before has TBRA demanded this fee for clinics, training races, non-competitive events, etc., but now they demand it if you want that kind of event listed on TBRA's schedule.  Previously it was listed as a courtesy to TBRA member clubs, but now their logic is the $2 per rider is warranted to help "promote" the event cause it's on their site.

Hopefully the weather will get better for this Sunday. But even with miserable temps and spitting snow and ice, a few brave souls made it out this past Sunday. And we enjoyed the company from the SVMIC and Velo Bella Gals two weeks ago. Hope the Gals, along with new faces, come out soon!

I have posted a new weekly ride geared towards women that's going to take place every Sunday.  Go into the community section for the training rides link to see the details.  The ride will be led by the Smurfettes - the women of NashvilleCyclist.com!

This is a great opportunity for all those women out there who want to ride with some of the best women racers in the area.  Ladies on other racing teams are encouraged to show up too.  The goal is to have essentially a women only weekly ride that helps to promote more women on the bike.

The ladies leading the ride welcome riders of all abilities, just come out and have fun.  It would be a good time to ask questions and learn a lot about riding in a group.

(Guys are welcome to come too, but the peloton is led and focused entirely on women)

You can gradually increase your volume without it impacting you too greatly. Try going from 3x 4-5 hour total weeks by adding at least one outdoor ride that's 2-2.5 hours. Avoid too great of an increase too soon, such as going out and doing 3 hours in one day without having made a steady progression towards that duration. You can make your daily increases in 15-30 minute increments with your weekly increase in the 90-180 minute range depending upon the week within the build cycle. The key is spreading the stress out across the entire week and not getting it in huge chunks if you're body hasn't adapted yet.

Right now I'm on the trainer 3 times a week for a total between 4-5 hours doing "Spinnervals" DVDs.
